No one has said that, since they don't have any issues, the Rocket is just fine.....not one. They have said there is no conclusive evidence that the Rocket has more issues than other bikes. For those who have determined that the Rocket has issues beyond the norm.......well what is the norm? How do you determine the norm? Its all just an impression one gets by looking at the complaints on the websites. No formal study has been made, no one (that I know of) has collected data (other than net polls) and made a valid statistical analysis that 1: establishes the norm and 2: shows that the Rocket is beyond this norm.
I would advise anyone who has the impression from the websites that the Rocket has an above normal likelyhood of mechanical failure NOT to buy one. You won't enjoy it. Stay away and get some other bike that you are more comfortable with.
I love mine and would buy another in a heartbeat despite all the hand wringing on the web. But maybe I am just one of those happy, contented, but apparently stupid, Rocketeers that thinks the Rocket is the best dang motorcycle in the world.
