i have just de-crudded my bike after a winter of road salt and general nastiness. I had covered the bike in Scottoil 365 protective spray, so that itself came off with a good wash and hose off. Chain oil fling i remove with a degreaser.

After it was all dry, i use what i have always used, Motorex 645 Protect and shine. In my experience, this is the best detailig product i have found. It is not cheap, but it does literally give you that showroom finish again. If there are any bits that have got a bit 'woolly' (front axle bolt, edges of the discs etc) i just use fine wire wool and shine them up again.

Prevention is better than cure, and Scottoil 365 really works, so next winter give it a try.

Hope this helps ?
