Yet another auxiliary power socket question (but one that hasn't been asked before)

Hi all, I've just bought an original Triumph auxiliary power socket (off eBay), which was listed to fit the 955 model.
However, the instructions state that it's for the 1050 model ONLY, and there's all sorts of warnings that it should only be fitted to this model of Tiger.
I wrote to the seller who told me he didn't realise, and that he will refund me, but because of postage costs and time, I'd rather check with you guys as to whether you think it will work anyway.
The Triumph part number is: A9938037 and a google search only shows up it's for the 1050.
My bike's an "03" Tiger, which has the plate ready to receive the socket, and the wiring connector ready too. I have read on this forum that the "03" model should have the socket as standard, but mine must have been removed at some point in it's short life.
I'm hoping to hear it will be fine on my bike, but I just want to doule-check with you knowledgeable fellas.
