Trying a New Dealer
Had to take my bike to the dealer for the 12000 mile service. Some may remember the problems I have had with the local Birmingham AL dealer. The 40 day saga of getting the bike fixed. The body work not being put on right, the seat not being put on right. I decide I will make a little 100 mile trip and try the dealer in Decatur AL.
The bike did not run right on the way home. It would try and bog down under steady throttle at highway speed. I get home and start looking at the bike. Thank god I wasn't riding at night. They had unhooked the headlights and forgot to hook them back up. It was simple to put right but if I would have discovered the lights weren't working aty night on the road I'm not sure I would have found the problem in the dark.
I'm still worried about the idle so I wait until I get a chance to pull the tank and have a look. Only one of the tank vent hoses was hooked up and it was hooked up to the wrong valve. It now runs better but the idle is still a little funny because they were trying to tune it with the gas tank air lines screwed up. I guess I will take it back now that it's hooked up right and let them try the tune again.
Score to this point: Triumph Dealers 4 Me 0.
Is it too much to ask to have the bike put back together correctly. Apparently if you live in Alabama it is.
