My Speed Four, bought brand new from the dealer, has a rear end that's *not quite* lined up right. The centerline of the tail doesn't appear to be perfectly in line with the tank and bars. The mudguard doesn't look like it is perfectly in line with the rear wheel.

It looks like a bike with a tweaked rear sub frame, like from a crash. But mine's never been down, never been abused.

I'm not bothered. I bought it for it's excellent price, excellent suspension, and honestly for its wierdo factor. The alignment of the tail is the last thing a passerby is going to notice about a Speed Four.

I'm pretty certain that's the hallmark of British automotive engineering... being almost imperceptibly imperfect.

You know, the Speed Four tail contains something the TT tail doesn't - the coolant reservoir. I wonder if the small design changes made to accomodate the reservoir and hose make the rest of the off-the-shelf TT parts look not quite right?
