I know the answer to this. I brought a Laverda in from Georgia and have friends at DMV. You cannot bring in a new bike from outside the state unless you can prove a residence in that state and are moving.The bike must have California emissions and labeled for it. You can however bring in a previously titled bike from any state without mileage limitations. The trick is to get the dealer to title it to a person and sell the bike to you. When you take previous title to DMV they wiil inspect for emissions label only and register it for you. You are liable for sales tax and DMV fees.....................John
