Relay wiring

It would appeAR THAT YOU HAVE WIRED THE RELAY CORRECTLY. Pin 85 operating switch, Pin 86 to earth/ground, Pin 30 Batter Positive, Pin 87 to heated grips. Pins 85 and 86 can be reversed, Pins 30 and 87 can also be reversed.

Try connecting everything up except the cable to the heated grips from the relay.If the fuse still blows then the problem is between the battery and the relay, if the fuse doesn't blow then the problem is from the relay onwards i.e the grip wirng.
