The adjustment you refer to is on the mixture screw. There is one on each carb. They are situated (if you imagine the carbs on the bike) right at the front of the carb body near the inlet manifold. They are on the underneath of the carb and may be seized so be careful with them. It is MUCH easier to do them with the carbs out.
