There are so many scanners available. It really depends what you want to use it for. No scanner will have Triumph specific info but you can get your Triumph info with the genereic OBD II reader. If you want to use your scanner for other things like your own vehicle then get something a little better so you can actually see data streams and take control over certain aspects.

If you want to go used try and see if you can pick up a SnapOn MT2500 Red Brick with appropriate cartridges and cables. These units have been used i shops for years and are the standard of scanners. In the last 3 years SnapOn put out a new scanner called the Modis so the Red Bricks are coming up cheap. Also a great scanner is the OTC Genisys (actually the one I prefer over any other scanner) but is still quite current so its hard to find a good deal.

SnapOn 2500 does OBDI, OBDII, CAN (with update) has a troubleshooting, data stream, Asian, Domestic and European (all with appropriate cartridges).
