I used to wear Doc Marten Wellingtons, but I haven't been able to find them anywhere in town. They were the best boots for everything I encountered: riding, walking, standing and working on cars (TRULY slip resistant, steel toe, padded ankles, super comfortable). Downsides: the insoles don't last very long, the leather on the toe wears out quickly, and they're not lined for super cold winter riding, nor are they water proof, but I have a pair of British gaiters and thick socks to take of those problems.

The boots I'm currently using are Cat Colts. Essentially the same as the Docs, but they only come in brown, don't have padded ankles, are slightly more comfy, have a taller steel toe (requiring shifter lever adjustment) and the boot opening is slightly narrower (rubs against my calves). Definitely second best.

The thing I like about both of these boots is that they're both around $100 and how easily they can be put on or taken off. No laces, velcro, straps, or magic spell holding them on. Put em on, and walk away. Take em off and relax. Of course, I'm the type of guy that doesn't untie shoes when he takes them off, and thinks checkerboard slip-on Vans are the best shoes ever made.

My two cents.
