CAN Protocal or Controller Area Network is only manditory on vehicle PRODUCED in North America. If the bike or car is produced anywhere else it is only out of common courtesy that it comes OBDII or CAN enabled. If you have a scanner that you can plug in go ahead. You just wont get a response if it is CAN bike vs a OBDII bike. I have a Snap On MD2500 Red Brick that I use but I have never tried to plug it in on the bike.
