I finally gave up on motorcycle specific boots several years ago. I bought two pair of Red Wing boots from a local shoe store. One pair is insulated for cold weather riding, the other pair is for the rest of the year. They have worked out great. Very comfortable for walking once I am off the bike - and from day one - no break-in needed. They have a good reputation for durability as well. I've have no issues with using them for riding. Not as stylish as motorcycle boots perhaps - but in this category I'll take comfort over looks in a heartbeat.
