Almost all the major manufacturers are sourcing what is classified as "Electric Motor" size bearings offshore someplace. Not much manufacturing going on in the U.S. any more (a shame). Fafnir was bought out by Torrington quite a few years ago, and subsequently Timken bought Torrington and Fafnir. From a distributors perspective, Timken has made a total mess of the bearing industry (the are the major producer of bearing steel also).
