Yeah sorry guys, I should of been more specific in relation to the answer.

Here in Australia we refer to mileage in litres/100 kilometers or kilometers to the litre, but for us older blokes we still talk in miles/gallon as do our imperial brothers in England.

I convert the mileage we get from the litres to miles/ gallon so I can understand it, even though the metric system has been in place since around 1973.

I realise on the American continent gallons are totally different & are refered to as a US gallon, as opposed to the English imperial gallon.

What system is in place in Canada?
