Anyone powdercoated the gas tank?

Just wondered if anyone has actually done this. I am considering this to an alternative to a expensive paint job. I have talked to a couple of different coating places.

One guy told me he doesn't do tanks because it will ruin them. He claims that some of the tanks in general are put together with silver solder inside and that baking them will cause it to melt and thus ruin the tank inside.

Has anyone heard of this before? Or does anyone know how our gas tanks are put together inside?
