Take off the left side cover. You will see a hollow plastic piece about 5 inches long, 3 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. It points toward the front of the bike and is the snorkel. Part of it extends with a tube about three inches into the center of you air filter. Grab it and pull it straight out. You will then see your air filter.

Next, there is a cover with three screws holding it on to your airbox. take them out, pull the cover off, pull the stock filter out, put the K&N in, put the cover back on, tighten screws and you are done.

There is a debate on putting the snorkel back in. Some will say never, others will say it is needed for the acoustics of the box. If you don't want to put it back on, you might consider adding a bellmouth to the air intake. A cheap solution is to buy a Polaris Plenium for ten bucks, cut it in half, shove one in the hole. A very cheap and easy mod.
