A tyre question

Thought this would be the best place to pose a tyre question. My 05 Sprint has just over 8600 miles on it, and the front tyre is the original 020, which I must say I have hated since I got the bike. Gives me no confidence in the wet, follows all the ruts in the road, and has really cupped. I had a new rear 020 fitted about 4000 miles ago which still has some life left in it.

Having read through the post's, the Michelin Pilot Road's seem like the tyre that will suit my needs. Commute 26 miles a day in all weathers and out at the weekend for fun!!

At last my question, I need to replace the front 020 as the wear bars are now showing. I want to replace it with a Michelin. Would it be a problem to have a Michelin on the front and Bridgestone 020 on the rear or should I replace both at the same time??
