The frame sliders are designed to minimize damage during an at speed low side type incident and the crash bars are more for protecting the engine from contact with rocks, etc. I had them on a 1050 Speed Triple and ,unfortunately, had to use them on several occasions. The damage was limited to engine case scrapes and bent pegs in all cases, the bike was rideable afterwards. The crash bars may provide low side protection, I'm not sure how far they stick out. Do the bars limit access to the engine?
