It just so happens I have a 05 ST and a 06 675 parked in my shed.

I can say the two compliment each other very nicely.

I have the gel seat on the 675 and find it a marginal improvement over stock, but after an hour or so its still only slightly softer than a plank!

I have done 700kms in a day and also toured with tail bag and throw overs for a week on it. I shift around a lot to keep the blood flowing to the nether regions and I'm exhausted after a full days ride BUT nothing can wipe the smile off my face after riding the 675.

One thing I would recommend doing straight up is ditching the progrsseive rear spring and going for a straight rate unit for your weight and riding style and of course setting the suspension up for you. Also be careful on the stock tyres if the road is wet.

Hope this helps.

Brett.
