I'm extremely excited about this: After Bennington, I am accompanying Whisperinsmith on his long-awaited trip across the United States (he elected me to post the news). We are in the early planning stages, but things are shaking out pretty nicely.
I'm also excited that part of the journey will include a southerly segment with rndtayor and his posse (people and routes to be confirmed). Others?
We have a limited timeline, but plenty of time to enjoy the sights. So far we've selected the Blue Ridge Parkway, and parts of Arkansas for interesting routes. On great stretches of boringness we'll take the Big Slab to make up time, but will nevertheless enjoy the scenery along the way. For those portions of the trip, I've suggested The Biggest Aluminum Foil Ball in the World, and Mel & Charlene's Hubcap Museum and Snack Bar. Maybe also the Food The Looks Like Jesus exhibit.
Suggestions welcome. We're both cross-country newbies (although I will lord my Seattle-to-Bennington experience over John for the entire trip).
John, did I miss anything?
