I bought a pair of used Micron slip on's. They were so loud they made my ears itch. So I made a pair of restrictor plates that went between the can and the end cap with holes as large as the original exits. That helped but the tone was high and poppy. I did get a pretty good boost of performance though.

Late this fall I saw a new pair of overstocked Staintune's at about half price. I decided to get them because I am keeping the bike indefinatley. They are beautiful, and fit perfectly without the use of a mid pipe. Very nicely engineered pipes. I was able to put them on before the snow and run em a couple of days. They sound very nice. deep note, same performance as the Microns. less noticeable backfire.

Never tried the thing with removing the original pipe baffels.
