Unless I missed it, they never said what kind of research they'll be doing. Presumably not racing development, and they mentioned safety a few times, but that's a pretty broad topic. I guess the idea is to develop something like the driving simulator I got to play with a few times for a certain main battle tank. Sorry, I mean 'train on.' Did I say play with?

So I'm picturing the bike being moved by hydraulic arms in response to the riders input, but how will they simulate the feeling of weight being transferred to the rear wheel during acceleration? Inputs like that are critical to a rider's perception of what is possible on a motorcycle, especially in serious maneuvering such as accident avoidance. Simulating it perfectly in the software won't do any good unless the rider gets the necessary input and can therefore respond just as he would on the road.
