How can a sludge trap make any noise at all?
Oil starved parts caused by a clogged trap can get very noisy (and expensive) , but I would not trust anybody who, after tearing into my gearbox in pursuit of a phantom tapping sound 7 bills later says "It must be in the sludge trap" that'll be another 2K....
GOOD Triumph mechanics are hard to find these days.
