I don't know about Triumph covers. I think they just fit over the stock eggshells. Woodcraft make a replacement cover with either a stainless or much thicker aluminum skid plate. The skid plate is replaceable in the event of a crash, unlike a one piece cover. Woodcraft is a complete replacement. The GB Racing covers I had are not a replacement cover, but rather a plastic skid plate over the stock eggshells. It held up fine, and the bike isn't leaking or using any oil (I check) any more. Go figure. I don't know what it was all about. I have to replace the assembly anyway, since the crash ground through the skid plate and into the OEM cover, but it sure is nice the bike decided to stop marking its spot. It is a Triumph, so it has a personality.
