Got smacked
by a beetle at about 65 right in the lips (yea mouth was closed) but the entire mouth went numb an I started pursing my lips out of reflex and after a few seconds when the feeling started coming back, I felt legs moving between my lips tried to spit the thing out and it had latched on! I had to pull off and tear that thing off my lower lip which it had pierced nicely. ( it did taste pretty bad when I accidentally bit into it.) That sucker was about an inch and a quarter long, no idea what kind it was.
The other funny one happened on tn116 near brushey mtn state pen one of the women in the group just stopped dead it the middle of the road and (our group scattered all over the road trying to stop) and stripped down in the middle of the road! She had hit a swarm of bees and they went up her pants and down inside her jacket and shirt. She was ok but stung about a dozen times.
