Adjust the clutch to how you like it to engage best, a general rule for me is at least 2mm free play at the lever, but there is quite a range which I find acceptable. You dont want the cable too tight or you will get clutch slip, or not too slack or you will get clutch drag [creeping]. Trial and error of adjustment is the best way,
