Re your oil leak, definitely get yourself a Haynes manual and go to town changing oil, o-rings & filter. From one mechanical incompetent to another, I can tell you...it's dead easy. It'll save you save you some dough and you will bond with your machine doing basic stuff. Re your dealer, 3 weeks is a loooong time...I agree. The hell with 'em. There's always someone who will help...just give it some thought and look around. Me, I do all my basic stuff and when it gets over my head, a local Triumph ridin' BMW tech is our go-to guy. Our own VR6 on here has held my hand more than a few times. I buy tires, chains etc... from the local Kaw-Suz-Yam megadealer and they'll put that stuff on. These Triumphs aren't that specialized. A lot of little things interchange. I've been riding these things for 5 years and have never had one thing done by an actual Triumph dealer. We don't have one and the closest (2 hours) were a bunk of jerkoffs I wouldn't trust anyway. Triumph forever!
