I beg to differ slightly on this - I believe that they can only void the warranty for related items, i.e. Triumph could easily justify voiding any warranty claim on the rough idle - but that has no effect on, for example, the microswitch which would remain covered.

I have a similar situation with my car at the moment - as I've fitted a hitch to it, BMW are whining about warranty issues related specifically to that addition, but a hitch does not have anything to with, for example, window winder motors.

My understanding is that there are numerous legal precedents on this - my memory, feeble at best, seems to think there is something called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act that applies. Anyone?
