Its quite common in battery operated systems to tie the battery return (negative terminal) to the structure of the vehicle, so some lights might only have one wire coming out, and gets the return from the case of the light, although this design is not really good, since then you have current flowing through your structure (frame, fender) back to the battery. If the lights have 2 wires coming out, you are set, the earth will come from being tied to the structure of the bike through the screws.
