Best way is to check is by trial and error, using a length of wire, tap into an earth terminal [indicators for example] and try touching the other end to metal parts of the rear light/bracket, [with the live wire connected up and ignition on.] Make sure it is not hooked into a 'live' terminal or you will get some sparks and maybe blow some fuses when you touch an earthed part. When you find something that earths the back light you can then connect the wire to the 2 points.
