Hi. This may or may not help but I've just fitted a red LED into the tacho of my Speedie. Looks quite sinister.
If you have a look at your clocks in the dark and count how many "light pools" there are, that should tell you how many LEDs you need. I imagine they'll be 5mm wedges as used in most clocks.
