I always park (2 or 4 wheels), if possible, so that I can exit by going forward; that way I can see if any moron is walking or driving by with their heads tucked in their "nether regions". I was parking the car that way the other day and a fellow who was also backed in to the space next to me asked me why I did it. I told him, and he said that he was a safety instructor and he always taught people to back in, so that they could see better what was coming along when they pulled out.

Once again the wisdom of the "village idiot" speaks: Jim
