It's a hard thing to tell about dealers. It seems most companies have similar setups - some dealers are fantastic, others simply are terrible and it's up to you to find a good one. The unfortunate thing about Triumph is they have such a small dealer network. If you are unlucky enough to live near a dealer of poor quality, odds are it's the only game in town. With many bands UJMs, HD\Buell...etc it's a great deal easier to shop around. I can't drive anywhere without passing 1 of each, but I have 1 Triumph dealer within a couple hundred miles. Triumph is much more of a crapshoot than most other brands are.
Personally, I haven't been particularly impressed with my local dealer. But I didn't buy the bike from them so I didn't vote at all in the poll. Maybe if they had had the bike I wanted and I had bought it from them things would be different, but for me they've been pretty helpless. Can't find the stock jets, don't know and won't look for the part numbers, don't return calls or e-mails, currently holding 500 bucks of mine hostage - I pre-ordered a street triple with a delivery date of "October 1" from the dealer. When triumph contacted me to say it was an unknown delivery date. Possibly january or later. I went to get the deposit back so I could roll the money over into my bonneville (still spending the money at their store) but was told "you're lucky we'll give it back at all. You have to wait till we sell it."
So like I said, all dealers are different. You're just a bit shafted if the Triumph dealer by you isn't all that great.
