I had a week off and decided to do an IBA ss2000 on my 955 daytona. Quite a variety of landscapes over the week and it's always amazing at how much ground/road can be covered in such a short time. The ss2000 started in Central Illinois to Omaha, to KC, Salina, Dallas and ended the first day in Texarkana (1300 miles). Got up in the morning and finished the IBA ride by going up through Little rock, Memphis, Nashville, to Louisville and finished in Lexington, KY (800 miles). Then after the timed ride, I rode leasurely through Kentucky on route 421, Tenn into Virginia and then North Carolina. 421 is an excellent road and I had it pretty much to myself, possibly due to it being during the week. The scenery was beautiful, leaves starting to change in the mountains and the temps were perfect in the 70's. The winding roads through the Cherokee National forest were the best and absolutely a riot on the Daytona . The Southern part of the Cherokee in Tennessee was also very nice, but more crowded with traffic, so the ride was much slower. I ultimately ended up for the weekend at Barber for the Vintage Motorcycle days which was a great way to spend the weekend. Then Sunday I got up and was home in Illinois before sundown.
