I'm 5'8" and the +7 Calsci works great for me. Some that are around 6' have praised the +9 Calsci. I believe Mark has directions on his web-site for using to determine what height would be good. The actual measurement that would determine the height needed would be one's height seated--and this would need to be measured as you normally sit while riding (slouched or unslouched, etc.), IMHO. I believe that's why Mark recommends marking spots at certain distances in front of the bike and sitting on the bike and measuring the height above the stock screen where you see the marked spots.
