I'd think the ACH pads would sort of void the DOT cert...our Kevlars aren't really made for
blunt impacts. Now if you could get ahold of liners for the
flight helmets, you might still be voiding the DOT, but still have good impact protection.
Oh and I wear an HCI 100 leather-covered, and it's great. Doesn't seem to have the wind trying to rip it off like some other shortys. One of the lower-profile DOT shorty out there too, without getting to the
really expensive stuff.
