South Bay Triumph used to do a big bore kit for the 955. It consisted of liners from the Trophy 1200 fitted to the 955 cylinder. The liners also had to be bored and obviously custom pistons and head gaskets. The final result was 1040cc with the shorter stroke of the 955i engine. As stated previously Triumph pretty much thinks they have gone to the end of the line with the 1050cc being the max engine size and still have the degree of reliability necessary for a production bike. And yes that's about all Triumph did to the 1050 was to stroke a 955.
