Do as you like but IMO an O-ring (X-ring) chain last the longest if you just leave it alone, don't clean it and don't lube it. That's lack of maintenance if you ask me.
And I really don't think you will get many answers to your questions here, you will have to buy a Bonnie and a belt and let us know how it works out.
