The "software fix" for the fuel gauge consists of scheduling your bike in for a "map" download. The fix is in all the new, different "map tunes" for the Tiger 1050. Make sure the service manager knows about this fix; otherwise, he may not have checked the Triumph web site they get their downloads from for the new maps.
I had the "Off-Road" map installed a week ago and the service manager thought they had the latest maps. I was at the dealers the next day for something else and the service manager checked and found that there were new maps available for download that fixed the fuel gauge problem. They loaded the newest version (-2) and that fixed the fuel gauge--it took about 5 miles for it to register properly.
