One of those things you should only do once. The humiliation helps make the memory stick. On older bikes there was no side stand switch. Riding off with the side stand down would lead into an exciting pogo stick maneuver with the first left turn. I only did it once. Ouch! Hard to forget,...you know with the repair bill and humiliation. (Many years ago)
