My Vanson gear came with CE foam. After a crash 4 years ago, I replaced the knee, shoulder and elbow with GP hard armor. It's funny how, after a wreck you decide to upgrade all your protective gear! I feel safer now. It takes a bit of adjustment, but it's not uncomfortable even on longer trips.
