Phew, that's normal with unprotected St Steel. I have that brown colour on my 950SM and also the 955i Speed triple if I remember rightly. You can get the brown off with Wonder Wheels if you are so inclined (I used to do that on my Fazer 1000 header pipes.
Oh yes 5'11" 950SM suits you sir......no low speed fueling issues, a doddle around town (and you can ride over things if your so inclined) and eats sports bikes alive on twisty bumpy roads, build quality is so good that you could immerse it in salt water and it would clean up with a quick hose down. If you drop it the plastics are self coloured so no scratches to the base material and cheap replacements too. White Power fully adjustable suspension back and front (low and high speed damping).
