Follow-Up

I finished the resistor mod and I did make it switchable. Went for a ride with the switch OFF (gear sensor active) just to see if it was running like before the mod. Then carefully, while going slow in 2nd gear, I switched it to ON (680 ohm resistor).

It kept running as if nothing had changed which was a good thing! I was praying that it would'nt just conk-out and coast off the roadway dead. I rode it around for a few more miles thinking next the "check engine light" was going to come on but it didn't...whew!

So I, of course, started seeing if I could feel any power increase from the motor. I tried rolling starts and dead stops and quite honestly I couldn't feel any difference? Front end still will not pull up off the road with WOT in 1st. I can easily make it do that by playing the clutch game though. I switched it back and forth, but could not tell any difference in acceleration . I wasn't expecting a miracle, but I thought I could at least tell when the switch was on. No dice. I know it is hooked up correctly, but it just isn't working out as I had hoped.
