I chose to go to Wrigley to see the Cubs. I'd never been to Wrigley Field, and I heard they were going to remodel it, so I went to see the field as much as to enjoy a game of baseball. It was a great experience - manual scoreboard, loyal fans, beer, hot dogs and peanuts. Plus the rooftop bleachers across the street (which I hear will lose their view after the remodel). It felt like "old baseball" to me.

I hear that. I was in Chicago for a conference years ago too and went for a run along the lakefront, got as far north as Addison and a guy was trying to park a line of cars and I asked what was going on he said Cubs game. I did a U-turn and headed back to the hotel. That must have been my 10k PR, we'll never know. Changed, no shower and Concierge told me the Red line drops you off at Wrigley. Made it to the game at the bottom of the 2nd. McGuire of StL did hit a homer, it was the year after he broke Maris's record. Sosa got a hit but didn't score. But it was the experience of being at Wrigley. Incredible. The way baseball should be played. I've been to 5 Cubs games since and it never gets old. Nice thing about being an AL fan, doesn't keep you from having a favorite NL team.
