Generally not but I wouldn't mind for a short distance my two regular riding mates are competent riders.
Oddly when I take my TB to get the WOF (MOT) check every 6 months the guy that checks out bikes
always has a test ride. The first time he was gone for so long I thought he had stacked it and even the receptionist was looking worried. Turned up, said "Great bike !" and passed it.
Notice he doesn't bother to ride my Honda though.
