I ride both on the track and on the street. So far, plain old Pilot Powers have done just fine. I run in the faster half of the intermediate group, so I use the whole tire and drag knees a lot of the time. Pilot Powers haven't given me so much as a squirm except a couple times when they were cold and the track was a bit damp. I got a bit of a front end push, but nothing dramatic. For my purposes, I don't have much urge to switch over to 2CTs, especially since a friend used them for a while and wore the sides extremely quickly. The are fine tires, but they are overkill for most of us.
