A heli-coil is an easy fix for stripped threads.The damaged thread is drilled out a new thread is tapped ,the heli-coil (a metal insert with a thread on the inside that is the same as the original thread ,looks like a coil spring )is then screwed into this new thread and locked in place,job done.It would not do any harm to get your dealers opinion though.
