First, Hello to all.. I have had my 05 Speedmaster for 3 weeks now, came over from a Suzuki M800 (m50 in the usa) and am loving every minute of it.
OK, in the 2 years I had my M800 I modded it a lot, the standard things, exhausts cutting air filter etc, and if Im honest it didnt really make a whole lot of difference.
Now Im on the Speedy Im reading about jets, shimming cutting the air box etc etc.
I have the Triumph off road exhausts on, the short slash cut ones (much louder) and am now looking into the best route to go for that extra bit.
My friend has a Bony which he changed the ignition cpu so the rev limiter now cuts in at 8400 rpm, is this something that can be done on the sm? is it worth it?
The air filter system that replaces the whole airbox with 2 x K&N and maintains the outter look of the bike seems interesting, I assume if I go that route then new jets / needles will be required.
Theres a big bore kit on the net, 988cc, is this the way to go?? for maximum get up and go or would the special camshafts be a better option?
Ideally Im after as much ooomph for the best value.
If I go the el cheapo way and just change the standard air filter with the K&N and cut the airbox and then rejet whats the average gain I could expect.
The engine atm pulls up to 110mph pretty smartly, would I get faster acceleration or would I get a higher top end speed?
Thanks for any info you people can give me, Ill take all ideas on board..
Cheers, TrOjAn
