congrats on the new bike!

I had a similar thing happen. I had just rebuilt the motor on my bonnie, and in the process installed a set of Norman Hyde rearsets.

I couldn't get the starter to work, I decided I'd try push starting it, as I was on a hill anyway. So I'm running down the street pushing the bike, and I jump on and try to stick it in gear, but I can't find the dang shifter or footpeg! By the time I got it in gear I was moving so slow it didn't start, and I was at the bottom of the hill so I gave up and pushed it back home. Luckily, the neighbor was out front cutting the grass watching my every flailing move, searching for the footpegs.
