I've got a small oil leak at the top of the "outer tube" on my right fork. I assume this is a bad oil seal?

Looking at the shop manual, this appears to be a royal PIA fix. Looks like a complete disassembly of the fork, with new oil, oil seal (of course), washer and bush needed. How bad a job is this? Is the dealer the only place to get these parts?

Forks are extremely soft now. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I swear I can almost get the forks to bottom out just by pressing on them. If I have to take the whole freakin' fork apart, maybe this is time to upgrade the springs?
